“Walk In Christ”

Hello From The Temple …

In our Tuesday Night Bible Study, Pastor Brice taught on “Five Ways to Walk in Christ.”  What does it mean to “walk” in Christ?  Your Christian lifestyle is your “walk” in Christ.  It’s your real character.  “It’s who you are when no one is looking.”  – Pastor Brice.

Your “walk” in Christ should be:

  • Direct/Decisive
  • Distinguishable
  • Devoted
  • Delicate
  • Discerning

Walk in authority, be Decisive and Direct in your Christian lifestyle. Let your “walk” in Christ be noticeable and Distinguishable from that of your neighbor. Be Devoted, anchored in love, as Christ unconditionally loves you. Live a Christian lifestyle that is Delicate in appearance, but uniquely strong at the core. Finally, your “walk” should be Discerning. Learn to Discern His Voice, then obey. Walk in wisdom given by the grace of God. Meet us at The Temple and …

“Who Are You Listening To?”

During our Tuesday Night Bible Study, Pastor Brice made the following opening statement: “Tonight, I will use this one word – control – to launch a lesson that will feed our souls.”  He followed-up with this statement: “We as humans love to be in control, our nature is to be in control.”  With that said, where does control lead us?

Having control, of any situation, can lead to a lot of trouble. Why?  Because, God did not call us to be in control of our lives.  God controls our lives – our marriages – our decisions.  We are powerless people – control is not an option.  God’s Power is in His Name – God’s Power is in His Control – God’s Power is in His Way. “Let go and let God have His Way!”  Be a follower of God. Read: Luke 9:23 – Proverbs 16:20 – Psalm 37:23-24

Listen to God!  God is in Control!  Stop listening to people who are not in control.  Pastor Brice gave us 8 different reasons why we should:  “Let go and let God!”  Listening to or following the wrong people will disconnect you from God.  Meet us here at The Temple for further teachings on control and for inspirational lessons that will feed your soul. Plus, much, much more.  Until then ……

“What Is Your Target”

What is your target? What are you aiming for? Will you ever hit the bull’s eye? Pastor Brice shared with our Noon Day Bible Study Class that he teaches his Men’s Class to have targets. To aim for the bull’s eye. Their target – Reconciliation!

Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT) “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

Press on – focus on your target! Don’t let any obstacle block your path – obstruct your aim. Concentrate on your relationship with God – a relationship of faith and obedience. Then your relationship with each other will thrive. The key is to keep it moving – stay focused! You may not hit the bull’s eye, but your aim will improve. Never give up on each other. God will not give up on you.

“How Is Your Relationship With God?”

“How is your relationship with God?”  A couple of Sundays ago, Pastor Brice preached on #Reconciliation Ready.  Let’s talk about reconciliation. What is reconciliation?

Reconciliation is the process by which God and people are brought together again.  Through the sacrifice of Christ, our sins are atoned for and God’s wrath is appeased.  A relationship of hostility and alienation is changed into one of peace and friendship.  (2 Corinthians 5:18)

Pastor Brice stated, “Reconciliation is not about religion, it’s about relationships, loving God and loving your neighbor is a relationship.”  A relationship with God will sustain your relationship with others.  The key to a successful relationship is to make it a priority, make sure it is pure, and enjoy the power of togetherness as you gain access to the peace and provisions of God.  So: How is your relationship with God?

“Do You Know Who You Are?”

“If you know who you are then you won’t need to be validated by friends on social media.” Pastor V.S. Brice. “You can’t put your faith in what man says. Quit worrying about what people think or say about you. It all starts and ends with God. We are all valuable to God.”

God gave us dominion (made us managers) over all the earth’s other creations: animals, birds, fish. God created us in His image. This is our crowning glory and honor. Know who you are in God and act accordingly. Genesis 1:27 & Psalm 8:6-7

“Don’t get caught up in the creation and forget about The Creator.” Give Him praise before, during and after a storm. God is positioning you for a blessing. Stay Connected!

“Release the Bitterness”

At Tuesday Noon Bible Study, while reviewing our Sunday worship message, “The Root of Bitterness”, Rev. Seymore Brice gave us several noteworthy quotes pertaining to bitterness. “Bitterness and love cannot live together in the same heart – decide which one will stay – the other has to leave.” “Bitterness is contagious – discipline will stop the process.”  Question: “How do I remove the bitterness from my heart?”  Pastor Brice spoke from The Word.

  • Reveal your hurt
  • Release those who hurt you
  • Replace the hurt with God’s Truth
  • Refocus the past to the future
  • Reach out to help others – once you’ve been healed

Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us to get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger. Be kind to one another and forgive each other, just as God forgives you.

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”  Luke 23:34 (KJV)   Follow Jesus’ example, ask God to forgive the person or persons who have hurt you.

God will free you from being held hostage by your bitterness. “Holding a grudge doesn’t make you strong – it makes you bitter.”  “Forgiveness doesn’t make you weak – it sets you free!”

We welcome you to Connect at The Temple,

“Do You Have the Right Attitude?”

During one of our Thursday night Bible Study conference calls Pastor Brice, teaching on “The Dangers of Disobedience”, said that the highest praise we could give our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is “Yes, Lord!”  However, “You have to have the right attitude!”  The right attitude will keep you connected to God.

Read: Jonah Chapter 1 and 2 (Jonah disobeyed God and was swallowed by a fish.)

“Yes, Lord!”, would have kept Jonah connected to God. Disobedience will separate you from the Power Source. Obedience will keep you   Connected.  “Your attitude will affect your latitude.”  Don’t hinder God’s Power – Purpose – Peace – Presence! Stay with God!

Join us at The Temple! Be encouraged and spiritually empowered by the Word of God, with Pastor Victor S. Brice and his ministerial staff.

“You Can’t Do Christian”

“You Can’t Do Christian”

Pastor Brice was teaching from the subject: “Your Fidelity and Love for God” and made the statement: Be a Christian! You can’t do Christian!”  He was speaking from James 4:4-5.

He went on to say: “Christians are not better but, they are different. Stop trying to fit in where you don’t belong! Don’t be ashamed to be different!” 1 Peter 4:16 (KJV)

Be joyful that you can be called Christian, a distinguished name reflective of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God gives grace to those who make the decision to follow Him. So, make the decision, follow Him – strive to be more like Him.

“Who do you Call When You’re in a Tight Space”

January 29, 2018

HELLO FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Shut-up!”  Words spoken by Rev. Seymore Brice, during our Sunday morning worship service. Attention getting? Yes! Did a message follow this exclamation? Absolutely! His message: “Who do you call when you’re in a tight mess/place?”  – “God, Himself!”   Rev. Seymore went on to say: “Ask God to speak to you. Then, be quiet and listen, have a listening ear.”  (Proverbs 13:3)

Your tongue, although small, can cause a great deal of harm if allowed to run freely.  It may even cost your life, or someone else’s. This very powerful message included a total of 7 Sources of action needed in our Christian walk.  1) Wake-up!  2) Dress-up!  3) Shut-up!  4) Stand-up!  5) Look-up!  6) Reach-up!  7) Lift-up!

We welcome you to The Temple for related answers to the 7 Sources needed in your walk, plus much more, as you discern the Voice of God, hear His Voice, and follow His Instructions.

Meanwhile – Stay Connected!

Blessings!
