“Release the Bitterness”
At Tuesday Noon Bible Study, while reviewing our Sunday worship message, “The Root of Bitterness”, Rev. Seymore Brice gave us several noteworthy quotes pertaining to bitterness. “Bitterness and love cannot live together in the same heart – decide which one will stay – the other has to leave.” “Bitterness is contagious – discipline will stop the process.” Question: “How do I remove the bitterness from my heart?” Pastor Brice spoke from The Word.
- Reveal your hurt
- Release those who hurt you
- Replace the hurt with God’s Truth
- Refocus the past to the future
- Reach out to help others – once you’ve been healed
Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us to get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger. Be kind to one another and forgive each other, just as God forgives you.
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34 (KJV) Follow Jesus’ example, ask God to forgive the person or persons who have hurt you.
God will free you from being held hostage by your bitterness. “Holding a grudge doesn’t make you strong – it makes you bitter.” “Forgiveness doesn’t make you weak – it sets you free!”
We welcome you to Connect at The Temple,
Blessings!
