Solomon Temple Baptist Church was started on December 6, 1950, in the home of Deacon and Sister Wes Jackson in the city of West Pittsburg, California now known as the city of Bay Point in Contra Costa County. There have been many pastors, members and several locations of the church since it started. In February 1967, the church called Rev. P. N. Sumpter as their Pastor. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit and his visionary leadership, the church membership grew tremendously and a new church was constructed at our current location at 655 California Avenue, Pittsburg.
Vision Statement
We at Solomon Temple Ministries International strive to be a church that is wholeheartedly and unequivocally Bible-based.
- We shall usher in the Spirit of the Lord in worship where everyone can experience a warm friendly atmosphere, with inspirational music and songs, and teaching that is engaging and true to the meaning of the scriptures.
- We are dedicated to equipping our members for discipleship and Christian service to spread the word of the Lord.
- We envision assisting our community with food and clothing for those in need. We are furthering this effort by establishing a food pantry and preparing and delivering meals to members and non-members in the community.
