“Peace of/with God”
GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE …
“Peace of/with God”
What does it mean to have peace of God? There are several ways to answer this question, but I’ll start with this; To have peace of God is to be in a calm and pleasing state of appreciation and faith where we submit to and trust the Word of God. To elaborate; To have peace of God is to be in a state of living in harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, and tranquility with God.
When the believer participates in the Christian way of life, according to the plan of God, the peace of God is available to him daily. Our true peace comes from the Holy Spirit.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV).
To have the peace of God is to experience calm during your trouble and chaos. The peace of God is comparable to a soldier guarding your heart – mind – soul – well-being. The peace of God is your protection – comfort – hope.
You have peace with God when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Every believer has this free-will choice. Since Jesus is our Intercessor, our Peace-Maker, the Mediator between God and man, our peace with God will last through eternity. Our peace with God can never be lost.
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 5:1 (NIV).
Our justification through faith removes our sin guilt and makes room for peace with God through Jesus Christ. Our faith insures us to act on what we haven’t experienced yet and brings us peace with God along with strength – courage – stability – every good thing in life.
Hold on to the peace that God gives you. Whether it is the peace of God, or peace with God. Put the Word of God into action. Don’t just read the Word, heed the Word. Act on the Word and stop dwelling on things that are in opposition to the Word of God. Stop dwelling on things that are in opposition to the peace of God and peace with God. Instead, rejoice – pray – and dwell in God and His righteousness. And the God of Peace will be with you.
