“Are You In Trouble?”

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Are You in Trouble?”

During our Bible class, “The Word of God Is Right”, Pastor Brice asked the question: “What do you do when trouble, anguish, pain, or trauma finds you?”

Using the slogan:  “Who you gonna’ call?”

“Trouble, pain, and anguish will find you. No one is exempt.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

We have the tendency to call upon the person or persons we are close to when we need something fixed.  i.e. We call our mother, father, husband, wife, sister, brother, etc. This is good – not a problem – but can they fix the problem, or will they put a band aid on it?

When your plumbing breaks down do you call one of your family members? Maybe, but the problem may or may not get fixed properly. The right thing to do is to call an expert. Call a plumber. When your car breaks down, do you call one of your family members to fix it or do you call a mechanic? You call a mechanic. Exactly!

So, why would you call an untrained person to fix your hurt – pain – or trauma?

“Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands are my delight.”                    – Psalm 119:143 (NIV).

Rely on the Word of God. Delight in the Word of God. Let God and His Word control your life. Delve deeper into His Word so that any time you experience hurt – pain – or trauma – you will automatically turn to God and His Word. Neither you, nor your family members can fix your hurt – pain – or trauma. God and His Word are the correct fix because His Spirit, which lives in our hearts, is greater than anything in or of this world. There is nobody greater!

“The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4 (NIV).

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”                    – John 16:33 (NIV).

Get connected. Trouble will find you. When it does, make the call. He is waiting on you!

“Chucks and Pearls”

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Chucks and Pearls”

Chucks and Pearls are the best of two worlds. The world of chucks is a representation of a woman’s loving, caring, service and includes the ups and downs of daily living. The world of pearls is a representation of a woman’s thank you and praise to God for His Goodness and Mercy as she navigates through a life of loving, sharing, caring, for others.

See me in my chucks (tennis shoes) as I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors. Generation after generation of women from the early years of slavery (which officially ended with the signing of the 13th Amendment in 1865 freeing the slaves)  – through the Women’s Suffrage (which officially ended with the signing of the 19th Amendment in 1920 giving women the right to vote) – through the segregation years – which led to the march on Washington for jobs and freedom (August 28, 1963) – to the present day of rioting due to bigotry – police officers killing of the innocent – and the marches to bring awareness to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Wearing chucks represent the work (serving) I do on a daily basis under God’s leading and direction.  Wearing pearls represent my appreciation for God’s gift of serving and in recognition of His Mercy and Goodness. I serve by the grace of God.

“If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.” – 1 Peter 4:11b (NIV).

Pray that as you use your God given gift to help others they will see Jesus in you and glorify Him for the service you have provided. To God be the glory!

Join us on 5th Sunday (Women’s Sunday), January 31, 2021, at 10:00am. In recognition of our first woman vice-president, Kamala Harris, to whom we will now refer to as: Madam Vice-President, we have endorsed a phrase coined for her: “Chucks and Pearls” as our theme. Sis. Kitty Griffin is our speaker. Suit up in your chucks and pearls and join us as we celebrate the Year of the Woman.

“Our Morning Prayer”

GOOD MORNING FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Our Morning Prayer”

Good morning everyone! We at Solomon Temple start our day with morning prayer. If you have not done so, please join us every morning from 6:00am to 6:15am. Call: (888) 633-1082. If you would like to put in a personal prayer request, Sis. Kitty Griffin will be there to take your request starting at 5:45am until the start of our prayer.

Our Pastor, Rev. Victor S. Brice, blessed us with the Word this morning, prior to our daily prayer. This made my heart sing! Yes, it made my heart sing. Hallelujah! Heart is an action word. Our emotions stem from our heart: love – joy – peace – patience – kindness – goodness – faithfulness – gentleness – self-control. Wow! Did I just name the “fruit of the spirit”?

Read: Galatian 5:16-26 at your leisure. The apostle Paul is teaching the Galatians (and us) to live by the fruit of the spirit.

Again, we were blessed this morning to have a Word from our Pastor prior to our morning prayer. Anytime we get a Word from our Pastor is a blessing. He encouraged us to keep praying.

“Never stop praying.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NLT).

We can all participate in prayer by picking up the phone and calling in every morning. Continue praying short prayers for yourselves, interceding on the behalf of others, communities, local and federal government, and the world, throughout the day. End your day in prayer.

It only took a few moments for Pastor Brice to bless us with a powerful message. Stay the Course – Stay Connected – Don’t Cease – Keep Calling. Your benefits: God will…hear you – help you – hold you – and you will experience happiness.  Pastor Brice encouraged us to read Psalm 61:1-8 a Psalm of David. David is praying, crying out to God for help.

“O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety.”                      – Psalm 61:1-2 (NLT).

“Are You Caught Up?”

HELLO FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Are You Caught Up?”

How often do you go along with what is popular – with what the majority thinks or feels about a particular situation? Ok, we have all been victim to the majority rule or the majority opinion. We go along with the group, even though, something in our psyche is trying to get our attention. Yet, we ignore it and go along with the majority. Stop!

“Everything outside of the Word of God is wrong. The majority does not make it right.”                                 Pastor Victor S. Brice.

Pastor Brice has started a series of teachings on: “The Word of God is Right.” Psalm 119:137-144 are the guiding Scriptures.

“Righteous are you, O Lord, and your Laws are right.” – Psalm 119:137 (NIV).

Knowing that God’s Word is Right, it behooves us to put everything else to the test. Be careful not to let the crowd or group lead you into something that is outside of God and His Word. This includes simple things like deciding on what movie to watch as well as the major choice of a mate.  Give this a thought.

i.e. An explicit pornographic movie vs a family oriented movie. Test: Is the movie centered around God and His Word?  Would I watch the movie with my mate, children, pastor, or any of my fellow congregation members? Choosing a mate. Test: What does the Word say about marriage?

“Not aligning with the Word of God is wrong.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

The Word is your Guide to living. Live by the standards of God’s Word. Seek the things that are of Christ. Anything less will get you caught up in worldly living. Worldly living will get you caught up in going along with the majority. You’ll go along with what feels right or seems right.

“Don’t let your feeling determine what is right.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to death.”                              – Proverbs 14:12 (NIV).

God and His Word are right. God’s Way is the Right Way! Live to obey God – Live to please God! Don’t get caught up! Live the Right Way! Ask God to order your steps in His Word.

“Christ is all, and is in all.” – Colossians 3:11b (NIV).

“Are You Available?”

HELLO FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Are You Available?”

Pastor Brice has started teaching a series titled: “Are You Available to Serve?”  He started teaching from Mark Chapter 10.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45 (NLT).

Jesus came to earth to serve others and to give His life as a sacrificial ransom for us. He died for our salvation. We could never do enough – share enough – give enough – to be deserving of this gift of life – a truly, Good and Perfect gift.

“Every gift that God has given you is good and perfect.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

“Every good and perfect gift is from above.” – James 1:17 (NIV).

Pastor Brice elaborated further on this Scripture and said: “Every gift from God comes with a goal attached.”  To God be the Glory!  This is God’s goal for us. Give Him the glory! Acknowledge Him and thank Him for your gifts: career – house – car – treasure – essential needs. Lift your voice and praise Him – acknowledge Him – because it is not about you making it on your own – having victory over your adversaries – succeeding in your endeavors. It is all God! He made a way for all that you have now, all that you had in the past, and all that you will have in the future.

As we move forward in 2021, make the declaration that is in your heart verbally known to God. Show Him by serving. To serve others is to serve Him! Get away from the cliché of always thinking that God knows what is in your heart. Yes, He knows, however, He wants you to act on what is in your heart. Demonstrate your love for Him by doing – serving – giving – helping others. While you’re at it, do your serving willingly – cheerfully – without grudge or malice. Without expecting something in return.

“Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’”  – 2 Corinthians 9:7b (NLT).

“Reflect!”

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Reflect!”

The apostle Paul wrote two letters, 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy, to his close friend, Timothy, to encourage him in his ministry to the people of Ephesus. One of the key points to take from these letters is found in 1 Timothy 1:13 & 1 Timothy 1:16.

“I obtained mercy.” – 1 Timothy 1:13 (KJV). “I obtained mercy.” – 1 Timothy 1:16 (KJV).

“Reflect on this past year and thank God for His Mercy!” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

Reflect on any one of your personal situations – occurrences. Or the situations – occurrences of our nation – of the world. Realize that God has not forgotten you. He has not forgotten His people. God was in the middle of everything that went on during 2020 and the outcome is by His Mercy! God has kept us through it all.

Now it is time to redirect, refocus, revisit and reclaim. Look back on 2020 as a detour. We have all had to deal with a lot during this detour year. Pain, heartache, sicknesses, losses. Redirect your feeling of depression – your “woe is me” attitude to God and His Goodness and Mercy. Refocus on God – focus on His Word – focus on spreading His Word. Revisit the Old Testament of the Bible. Revisit the beginning. Learn from God’s prophets – judges – kings. Revisit the New Testament of the Bible. Jesus – Salvation. Reclaim the Word of God – settle the Word in your heart – mind – soul.

God sent us on a route different from the one we, ourselves, had planned for 2020 for a reason. He sent a pandemic (COVID-19) that had us making adjustments to our normal routines. We literally had to stock-up, mask up, and stay away (social distancing) from each other. How did we survive? What kept us?

God!

“God’s Mercy is the glue that held us together.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

God’s Mercy is always at work, but sometimes God waits on us to look back – reflectrefocus – our heart – mind – soul – on Him. Focus on His Word. God’s Mercy is available to everyone. Reach-up and grab It – reach up and hold on to God’s Unchanging Hands.

“Tis the Reason!”

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE…

“Tis the Reason!”

Tis the season! This phrase is often heard during the winter holidays (Christmas and New Year). Well, since I’m going there, let’s hear the rest of the phrase written in a song about the season. Deck the Halls: Deck the halls with boughs of holly – Fa-la-la-la-la – la – la – la – la. ‘Tis the season to be jolly – Fa-la-la-la-la – la – la – la – la.

It may be the season to be jolly – happy – cheerful – festive, but none of these words depict the true meaning or reason for the Christmas season. If you did not tune in to our Sunday sermon you missed it. Pastor Brice broke it down to us. He preached from 1 Timothy 1:15-17. He also used the Message Bible transliteration so we could clearly understand the meaning of Christmas.

“Merry Christmas!” This phrase is heard quite often during this winter holiday season. Yet, we still miss the true meaning of Christmas.

“Could the “Merry” in Christmas cause us to miss it?”Pastor Victor S. Brice

“Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.” – 1 Timothy 1:15 (MSG)

“Tis the Reason!” Yes, Jesus is the Reason for the Christmas season. “Christ the Savior is born.” This should be our focus: Christ the Savior. It is not about money – shopping – traveling – partying. None of these things are able to save you. Jesus is our Savior – Jesus is our Gift.

“The gift of Jesus Christ is a gift of Mercy.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

Where would we be without God’s Mercy? We wouldn’t!

Through the years we have all, yes all, gotten out of touch with the true meaning of Christmas. This is due to commercial advertising. We want to be “merry”, so to speak, so we go about our shopping, using festive decorations, planning festive dinners, and forget about the reason for celebrating Christmas. We forget about Christ in Christmas.

I challenge you: When you see the word Christmas, focus on Christ. The latter part of Christmas (mas) is an adverb that means “more” or “most”. Used as an adjective it means “but”. Ok, where am I going with this?

Christmas! But, God! We are here only because of God’s goodness and mercy. The birth of His Son was for our Salvation. So, hearing the word, Christmas should make you shout! Hallelujah!

Jesus is the Reason for the Christ-mas Season. During this Season focus on wanting more of  Christ – more of His Word – more of Him.

“Thank God For His Mercy”

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE ….

“Thank God for His Mercy!”

We have all been victim, in one way or another, to this COVID pandemic. For some of us, our family members, close friends, or associates, have been afflicted with the disease. Listening to the daily news reporting on the number of people who have tested positive, gotten the disease, and/or have succumbed to the disease, has affected us also.

“We’re fortunate we have an Awesome God! In the midst of this COVID, He is still God and He is still Good!” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

These past nine months have been filled with grief, heart ache, depression, and despondence due to personal losses or hearing about the losses of others.  Yet, there are family and friends that seem less affected by this pandemic than others.

Ever wonder why?

“Crisis will come, but it is how we respond that matters.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

What is the correct response?

Believers will not allow a crisis to consume them. Believers know that God has a plan for them – they know that He will eventually reveal His Plan. While waiting, put your trust in Him. Lean on Him for comfort and guidance. Turn to His Word – turn to Him. Praise Him during your storms – struggles – heartaches. Focus on His Goodness and Mercy which has brought you this far.

“What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have Him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven – and the future starts now!”           – 1 Peter 1:3 (MSG).

Thank God every day, for His Goodness and Mercy, seen or unseen. No pouting allowed! Connect with the Lord – connect with His Word – connect with your prayers – connect with your patience – connect with your service. Wait on the Lord! God’s plans for you are better than anything you could ever fathom. Praise Him! Give Him the glory! Thank God for His Mercy!

“Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 (NLT).

“STMI Cyber Month”

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE …

“STMI Cyber Month”

Connect with Solomon Temple Ministries International during our cyber month. Our Pastor, Victor S. Brice, has designated the month of December as “Cyber Month” for STMI. During our “cyber month” we would like as many people as possible to commit – log-on – to Facebook and connect with the Word of God through the teachings of our Pastor. You will be blessed with a powerful and inspirational Word.

Start your week on Sunday mornings, 10:00am to 11:00am, by logging on to Facebook live with Solomon Temple Ministries International. Continue your week with STMI via Facebook live on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, 7:00pm to 7:30pm for Bible teachings. We also have our free teleconference line: (888) 633-1082 as an added incentive for anyone not on Facebook live.

Start your mornings with prayer. Call our teleconference line: (888) 633-1082 every morning from 6:00am to 6:15am and receive a word of prayer. The line is open for prayer requests from 5:45am – 6:00am. Mute your phone before the prayer starts to eliminate interruptions.

Pastor Brice is blessing us with a series of Sunday morning teachings on “Making It by God’s Mercy”. Our Tuesday and Wednesday night teachings have been from Psalm 119. Pastor Brice has been diligently taking us through Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible. He is currently teaching from Psalm 119:129-136.

I encourage you to either log on or dial in to STMI sermons, teachings, and prayers.  You will leave with a Word that inspires – motivates – captivates – connects you to God. We are going through a pandemic time of depressions – financial losses – unemployment – families being separated (torn apart) – sicknesses (some unrelated to COVID). The solution is to draw closer to God. Seek God and His comfort – healing – provisions – righteousness – and peace. We cannot win this battle by ourselves. We need God to win. We need to feel His Presence.

What happens when you cannot sense His Presence?

“You can always rely on His Promises which are found in His Word.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

“You cannot win without God’s Word. Believe It and apply It.” – Pastor Victor S. Brice

Seek the peace of God and live in peace with God. Get an inspiring spoken Word from our Pastor, a true man of God.
