“Who Are You Hanging With?”
Ephesians 5:1-7 Gives us explicit instructions as to who or whom we should be in company with. Or, who we should hang out with. Pastor Brice, in our Thursday Night Bible Study, “Guard Your Relationship with God”, told us to watch the company we keep. “You can’t hang out with the world and hang out with God at the same time!”
Ephesians 5:1 (NLT) “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you’re his dear children.”
Being imitators of God automatically makes us different. Luxuriate in being different! We sometimes try to be friends with everyone, try to get along with everyone. Don’t get comfortable in doing this. This may lead to spending more time with worldly people and less time with God.
Be the example – be the trend setter – be the one your family and friends are drawn to hang out with. You’ve heard the saying: “You are what you eat!” Well, listen to this one: “You are who you hang out with!” Hang out with God! Follow Him! Hang out with Godly people! Until our next meeting ……
