“Wait vs Weight”
HELLO FROM THE TEMPLE ….
“Wait vs Weight”
Wait vs weight. I’ll start by defining wait: to wait is to pause, delay, anticipate, hold on, or look forward to. Weight, on the other hand, can be described as a measurement, an anchor, a load, a burden, or pressure.
A couple nights ago, I had the privilege of attending a virtual cyber class taught by Pastor Larry W. Brice, Sr., of Dallas, Texas, on: “Wait Management”. Wait vs Weight. Two words, same sounding, but different meanings. I heard the word, weight, and immediately was anticipating a class on how to manage my weight. I was excited to take the class because, like so many others, I have not been active during this pandemic, COVID-19, and have gained a few pounds.
I was not disappointed. I received some valuable information on how to manage my wait while waiting on the Lord. Pastor Larry W. Brice, Sr., also gave us an acronym for wait: Watch and intentionally trust God.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
“Wait on God – Walk with God – Step with God – Stay with God. He knows the Way you should go.” – Pastor Larry W. Brice, Sr.
Also, later, on that same night, my dear pastor, Rev. Victor S. Brice, expounded on Pastor Larry W. Brice’s teaching on “Wait Management”, with:
“Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.” – Psalm 119:49 (NLT)
Pastor Victor S. Brice clarified the meaning of hope using the Hebrew definition: wait. Yes, our hope is in the Lord. Our wait is our hope in the Lord. Read and meditate on Isaiah 40:31 and Psalm 119:49. Then, read the Word some more. Get inundated in the Word. Get weighted with the Word. And then ….. Wait!
