“Check Your Marital Status!”

Are you married? How often do you hear this question? Also, how often do you see: Check your marital status on applications when applying for employment -insurance (medical – house – cars) – driver’s license or for credit: cards – house – cars?

A couple of weeks ago, Minister Gwen Dangerfield gave a sermon and said: “I’m messing with a married Man!” Ok, your thought processes are being overworked. So, I’ll just say it:

“Why would she get before the congregation and admit to something like that?”

Ezekiel 16:8 (NIV) “… I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.”

“We’re married to the One – Holy – Pure – Just! We’re one in spirit with Him – my Way-Maker -my All-In-All. That’s Who I’m married to.”   – Min. Gwen Dangerfield

Isaiah 54:5 (NIV) “For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.”

Accepting God as your Lord and Savior is your first marriage (there is no age limit). When you accept Him, you enter a never-ending relationship with Him. You’re married to the Right One!

All relationships require active communication. How do we communicate with God? Through prayer – talking to Him. You can talk to Him – morning – noon – late in the mid-night hour. Know Who you’re married to. Increase your time spent with Him. Be bold – be courageous!

Colossians 4:2 (NIV) “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

Reach! Seek! Connect! Communicate! Build your relationship with Him! Be consistent!

It doesn’t have to be a long conversation – it doesn’t take long to praise Him. Just commit to talking to Him – praising Him every day. “Thank You, Lord! You’ve been good to me, Lord!

I love You, Lord!” Wow! Short and simple! There is Power in the Name! Call Him!

HELLO FROM THE TEMPLE …

“What’s Your Next Step?”

“Always include God in your plans!” Heard this before? Well: “Do you include God in your plans?” Make a commitment – move forward – include God in all your plans. Yes, all!

These past few weeks, at Solomon Temple, we have gone through a comprehensive study on prayer. We’ve received information as to who – why – when – where – and how to pray. We also held an Intercessory Prayer Conference. Bishop Sean Teal, from the spiritual movement, Prayer Everywhere, was our closing speaker. As we move forward, this brings my next question:

“What’s your next step in prayer?”

“God provides what you need for your next step. Make it the right step.” – Pastor V.S. Brice

Pray: “Teach me how to live to please You!”

“Teach me how to live to please you, because you’re my God. Lead me by your blessed Spirit.” Psalm 143:10 (MSG)

Go before God with a humble heart. Ask for yourself or intercede on the behalf of others. Hold firmly to your faith. Believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord – that He will provide. Receive His answer – obey Him. “Call to me and I will answer you.” Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)

“Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (NLT)

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)

Connect with us at The Temple. Get in the presence of God – receive His mercy and grace.

GREETINGS FROM THE TEMPLE …

“What Side Are You On?”

“We need to talk!” These very words can create a multitude of reactions depending on the person making the request. Whether it’s a spouse – best friend – family member – supervisor – or pastor, your reaction is guaranteed to be different with each one.

Let’s talk about prayer. Ok, this seems simple enough. Simple. Yes, this is the key word to prayer. Make your prayers simple. There is nothing difficult about prayer. Prayer is a simple conversation between you and our Lord and Savior. Make a simple request and receive an exalted answer.

“There are two sides to every prayer: An asking and an answering.” – Pastor V.S. Brice

Luke 23:42-43 is a request from man and a reply from God. This is a prime example of the two sides of prayer: Asking and Answering. God waits on us to make a request.

“Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ 43 Jesus answered him, ‘I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.’” Luke 23:42-43 (NIV)

“Prayer comes from the heart.” – Pastor V.S. Brice

All prayer begins with God, who is the source of prayer. Therefore, we must believe in order to receive. Simplify your prayers and make your requests from the heart.

“So, I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9 (NIV)

What side are you on? The asking side or the answering side? Routinely we are on the asking side of prayer. We move to the answering side when we obey God’s commands: Love one another – forgive those who trespass against you – honor thy father and thy mother – remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy. Seek Him first – Connect with God – Trust – Believe – Pray!

“Is Your Battery Charged?”

No, not your car battery nor the battery to any of your hand-held devices: cellphone – camera – calculator – MP3 players – watch, etc. I’m referring to your spiritual battery. In our Noon-Day Bible Study, Rev. Seymore Brice talked about prayer, as a means, to charge your spiritual battery.

“Our prayers connect us to the charging station, God’s Throne. His Heavenly Current gives us the power to recharge our spiritual battery. When not tapped into the right source, our spiritual battery will be drained. Prayer charges our spiritual battery.”  – Rev. Seymore Brice

Revelation 22:1 (MSG) “Then the Angel showed me Water-of-Life River, crystal bright. It flowed from the Throne of God and the Lamb, right down the middle of the street.”

Prayer is life! The more you pray the stronger your spiritual battery life. Without prayer, you’re a “dead man walking”. The only way to breathe life back into your spiritual battery is with the help of God. Talk to God – pray! Seek God for His Breath of Life! Be intense – consistent – fervent!

Matthew 6:33 (NIV) “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

When we don’t pray, our spiritual battery starts to drain – bit by bit. So, you’re now thinking: “I’ll just pray more.” Yes, this will help, but there is more to keeping your spiritual battery healthy – to keeping it fully charged. Start with prayer and end with prayer, however, don’t forget the middle part – this is the part that will lead you to pray more. The Word – daily devotions – researching Scriptures – attending Bible Study – fellowshipping with other believers – evangelism (spreading the Word) – attending church.

Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Yes, we all have work to do. We can’t receive God’s blessings when our spiritual battery is not charged, and it can’t charge itself. Tap into the Right Source! Connect to God’s Charging Station – Pray – Charge your spiritual battery – Receive His Blessings!

“Don’t Miss Your Opportunity!”

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV) “And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

“Rely on the Holy Spirit to lead you into prayer. Prayer is the breath of our spiritual life – we’ll die spiritually if we stop praying.”  – Pastor V.S. Brice

Always be ready to pray for yourself and others. God has equipped you with the ability to intercede on the behalf of: family – friends – relationships – churches – schools – local communities – governments – countries, etc. Be ready to pray about anything, and everything, at any time.

“Pray with consistency – intensity – and unity.”   – Pastor V.S. Brice

Colossians 4:5 (NLT) “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.”

Go into your prayer expecting God to say something to you. God will equip you with whatever you may need to carry out His tasks, however, you must equip yourself with the necessary tools needed to approach Him. Approach God with your Bible in hand, pen, paper, and expectations.

Listen for God’s instructions – follow through with obeying His commands. It’s not like when your mom or dad used to ask you to do something, which you did do, but you sometimes took your sweet time in doing them.  God’s instructions are commands. When God speaks – act!  When He gives a command – no lollygagging – no “in a minute” allowed.

“When you don’t pray – you miss your opportunity to connect with God.”  –  Pastor V.S. Brice

Don’t miss your opportunity! Meet us at The Temple, March 16th and 17th, Saturday – Sunday. Engage in our Intercessory Prayer Conference. You’re already on our website, just check our events page for complete information and registration.

“Where Is Your Key?”

Solomon Temple Ministries International will be hosting a Prayer Conference, March 16th – 17th. Pastor Brice has been preparing us for the conference through his teachings and encouragement.

“Keep pushing – you’re almost there!  You’ve come too far to quit now!”  – Pastor V.S. Brice

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

Are you still relying on self?  Self will have you worrying about your problems and struggles.  Self will have you trying to figure a way out on your own.  Pray!  Now, you’re probably thinking, I pray all the time, nothing happens.  “Self Check!”  Has your praying become complacent?  Has it become routine?  Praying is what we do as Believers.  However, our prayer-life can become dormant – lackadaisical – halfhearted – lethargic.

Jeremiah 33:3 (MSG) “Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wonderous things that you could never figure out on your own.”

“Call to me and I will answer you!”  “Call!”  This is the key!  Where is your key?  Have you lost your key?  When you call to Him you must do it with intensity – energy – urgency!  You must be passionate in your call to Him!

“Prayer is the key – faith unlocks the door!”   –  Pastor V.S. Brice

Prayer will help you accomplish three things. Therefore pray:

  1.  So that God be glorified
  2.  So that others around you be benefited
  3.  So that God provides grace to you – that your life is enriched

“Make that call!  This is a game-changer in our prayer-life. Prayer is a privilege and an opportunity.  You’ll forfeit a lot without it.  Jesus – others – and you!  This is how you get full Joy!”  –  Pastor V.S. Brice

Make known your requests to Him.  Reach out and touch!  No, not just anyone.  Reach out to God!  He will provide!  He is waiting on your call!

“Check Your Standards!”

Our Christian standards have a lot to do with our understanding of ministry. Pastor Brice is conducting a series of teachings on: “The Biblical Understanding of Ministry”, in which there are 7 components. #1. The Messiah – #2. The Mission – #3. The Message – #4. The Ministry – #5. The Method – #6. The Membership – #7. Myself (yourself). Our standards fall under the Membership component.

“You’re privileged if you’re a member of Christ’s Church. Don’t take advantage of the privilege.”  – Pastor V.S. Brice

Christ’s Church is where God resides. It’s where you are transformed, transferred, from the world system into the God System. Christ’s Church is everywhere, God is Omnipresent.

“A lot of people attend church every Sunday – but still miss church!” – Pastor V.S. Brice

Could this be you or I? Let’s look at our standards, also known as our principles of living, our conduct.

“People don’t see a difference in you when you accept Christ because you have so many habits that mimic the world. Break your old habits and replace them with new ones.” – Pastor V.S. Brice

Colossians 3:10 (MSG) “Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.”

As members of Christ’s Church there are certain actions we need to put in place. There are things we need to change. Put on a new Wardrobe. Wear It – live It – and be about It!

  1.  New Speech. Pray more, prayer will help you purify your speech.
  2.  New Standards (renewal). Your old standards are obsolete – get rid of them!
  3.  New Status. We all have equal status in God.
  4.  New Spirit. Forgive quickly – be even tempered – kind – love – peace – gratitude.
  5.  New Song. Have a new song in your heart. New lyrics praising and honoring God.
  6.  New Service. Have a new attitude towards serving God and His people.

Work on your personal standards. Change some things – go through renewal – revival of your minds and hearts. Your goal is to mimic the standards of Christ. Get to Christ’s Church!

“Bullying: Suspect or Victim?”

We have all been either a suspect or victim of bullying. Before you deny, or protest in any way, let me explain: What is a bully? A bully is a person who habitually seeks to harm, control, destroy, or intimidate those whom he perceives, as vulnerable, either by face-to-face contact, spiritually, or through social media: Face Book- Twitter – Instant Messaging – Texting, etc.

We’ve all been vulnerable at some point in our lives. This gives Satan the perfect opportunity to strike and entice through his spiritual realm.

“Satan is a bully!”  Pastor V.S. Brice

Words spoken by our pastor during our Sunday morning Leadership Class. Thinking about this statement: Can you still say you’ve never been bullied?

Satan will use your God given gifts and resources against you through temptation and enticement. i.e. You are living the life: an over-flow of money in the bank – new house – new car – high-paying job – bills paid. You’re feeling pretty good about yourself. Now, you’re bringing family and friends into the fold. You want them to have what you have. Come work with me – come party with me – share the good times with me!  Stop!

Romans 6:12 (NLT) “Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.”

Have you remembered the Sabbath? Exodus 20:8 (NLT) “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.”  When did you last open your Bible? Study the Word? Pray? Praised? Shared the Word? Served God with your gifts and resources? What have you become?

A victim turned suspect in bullying.  Satan will lead you from victim to suspect. Satan cannot defeat God so he will attack through God’s children.

We become vulnerable when we leave the protection of the Holy Spirit and enter the world of Satan. Satan is waiting and ready to pounce on our vulnerability. Keep God as the center and control of your life. Stay under God’s protection. Don’t give Satan an inch because he will take a mile in the form of bullying.

Romans 6:14 (NLT) “Sin is no longer your master,  for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.”

“The Secret to Success”

How many times have you heard: “Always include God in your plans! When you include God in your plans you succeed.”?  Since this is a well-known fact, the Secret to success is not a secret.

“When you’re committed to God, He’ll be committed to you. As believers we are destined to win, therefore, be dedicated and loyal.”  – Pastor V.S. Brice

Our Patient – Kind – Awesome God will allow you to experience success without acknowledging Him as the Provider, the Way, to your success. Sometimes, however, this may lead you to think that you’ve succeeded on your own merit.  You then, may become arrogant – prideful – or even egotistical. You may develop an attitude of: “Wow, look at me – look what I’m doing!”  Sooner or later your success will start to decline.    What went wrong?

Romans 8:5 (MsgV) “Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them – living and breathing God!”

“Success can become a road block. Keep your allegiance to God.” – Pastor V.S. Brice

He will show you that He is your Success and remove all road blocks. It is never too late to include God.

“Make the right adjustments when obstacles get in the way to avoid going wrong.” – Pastor V.S. Brice

Pray: “God, what do you have planned for me?”  When you start your day with this prayer – follow His directions – continue to seek – trust – serve – and grow in knowledge of Him, your success is already done.
