“Bullying: Suspect or Victim?”

Othella JordanUncategorizedFebruary 15, 2019 Leave a comment0

We have all been either a suspect or victim of bullying. Before you deny, or protest in any way, let me explain: What is a bully? A bully is a person who habitually seeks to harm, control, destroy, or intimidate those whom he perceives, as vulnerable, either by face-to-face contact, spiritually, or through social media: Face Book- Twitter – Instant Messaging – Texting, etc.

We’ve all been vulnerable at some point in our lives. This gives Satan the perfect opportunity to strike and entice through his spiritual realm.

“Satan is a bully!”  Pastor V.S. Brice

Words spoken by our pastor during our Sunday morning Leadership Class. Thinking about this statement: Can you still say you’ve never been bullied?

Satan will use your God given gifts and resources against you through temptation and enticement. i.e. You are living the life: an over-flow of money in the bank – new house – new car – high-paying job – bills paid. You’re feeling pretty good about yourself. Now, you’re bringing family and friends into the fold. You want them to have what you have. Come work with me – come party with me – share the good times with me!  Stop!

Romans 6:12 (NLT) “Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.”

Have you remembered the Sabbath? Exodus 20:8 (NLT) “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.”  When did you last open your Bible? Study the Word? Pray? Praised? Shared the Word? Served God with your gifts and resources? What have you become?

A victim turned suspect in bullying.  Satan will lead you from victim to suspect. Satan cannot defeat God so he will attack through God’s children.

We become vulnerable when we leave the protection of the Holy Spirit and enter the world of Satan. Satan is waiting and ready to pounce on our vulnerability. Keep God as the center and control of your life. Stay under God’s protection. Don’t give Satan an inch because he will take a mile in the form of bullying.

Romans 6:14 (NLT) “Sin is no longer your master,  for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.”

Blessings!
