Down at the temple…
Pastor V.S. Brice has been sharing a series of sermons on “time” – with a focus on “It’s about time”. A question that crossed my mind was, time for what? Pastor came from Ephesians 5:16 (NLT), which states, “Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. He made a very interesting observation in sharing that “we all need to remember that time is short and that we all have an expiration date. In addition, we don’t know how much time we have, and we certainly can’t turn back the hands of time. In other words, we can’t get time back.” Feel free to use his acronym for time:
T= Treasure Time. Treasure the time you have, because you won’t have this
I= Invest Time. Invest your time wisely. Give time to God and your family. Don’t sleep on
time because time won’t sleep on you.
M= Manage Time. Manage your time. You only have 24 hrs in a day.
E= Enjoy time. Enjoy the time you have while you have it.
Finally, Pastor encouraged us to write down the following, referring back to it when necessary: “yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift – that’s why it’s called the present.” What are we doing with our gift? Something to think about….Until next time down at the temple.
